SNEL - Safety Norm for Existing Lifts

Safety rules for a higher safety in existing passenger- and goods lifts according to DIN EN 81-80

The DIN EN 81-80 defines measures for existing lifts for the adaption to state of the technology. The aim is to adapt the existence of the lift to the security level of EN 81. For that reason a list of 70 measures were developed, which were classify into "HIGH", "MEDIUM" and "LOW".

The operator is responsible for the safety of the installation. We recommend the operators of the installation to accomplish a safety-related assessment. For the appraisal of the lift you can assign a maintenance service or a labelled appointment. As an achievement of the safety-related assessment you get a appraisal of your lift with proposals to modernise your lift and arrange required measures.

On the basis of selected points of EN 81-80 we show you solutions with products of LiftEquip for a conversion of your installation.
